atishoo! atishoo!

Hi! I am known for an extreme tendency to babble senselessly and sometimes rant like a mad lady. I plan to play to my strengths herein.

To Top Adam is a feat

I bet you didn't know that the International Court of Justice is a total crock of shit! Or perhaps you did. I now do. That's the important thing. Considering my IL exam is on Monday. However, I remain, royally screwed. My printer "toner" light is flashing. Thank god I've printed pretty much all my notes!

Meanwhile I watched that HORRENDOUS High School Musical Sing Along on Channel 7 (Yeah, yeah, obviously my own fault that I'm screwed!). It topped Adam Sandler. Whoa! They couldn't sing, they danced like mentals, and the guy's hair was straightened to within an inch of his life - not to mention his EXTREMELY black eyebrows...Like Sandy from the OC, but less appropriate on a pre-pubescent teen!

I'm traumatised! TRAU-MA-TISED. Though when the alternative is (a) International Law, or (b) Labour Law...trauma seems quite a good option. I prefer heart-wrenching pain, Clockwork Orange style glued-to-the-screen action, to the dull thud of boredom. Though I'm quite glad my eyes weren't actually taped open.

Speaking of dull and thudding...What is this post? Pooogooogachoo!

I hate Adam Sandler! How is acting mentally deficient in any way funny? Rhetorical question.

Speaking from the perspective of someone who may very well actually BE mentally deficient, I find it insulting. I also find it insulting that "network ten" would put TWO of his movies on in a row, for about the 7 millionth time.

I like Starburst lollipops...Though I may grow to hate them if I have to get fillings after this exam period!

I hate U2 for scheduling their concert the night before my morning exam.

I like Jack's Castle 1) for being much cheaper than U2 and 2) for having their gig on a "nothing" night. Check them out at www.myspace.com/jackscastletheband

I'm going. I'm GRUMPY.

Sunny Disposition & The Dreaded Two Three

Sunny sun sun
So it's my last day at HS and I have a red wine hang over. I don't think drinking a cocktail of skinny mocha and lemonade is helping! Hehe. I bought work people a present (red chocolates, very appropriate). The lady who loves me has given me some French soap (also red). A very nice thought, and I hope not a comment on the fact I smell. I usually don't have a shower (unless I'm totally stinky and can smell myself) before going to work. I know, I know, how disgusting. But I'll have a shower before going out on a Sat night anyway. And at 7:30am it's sleep, or shower, and there's just no competition. Plus I actually HOPE to repel people. And D Burt said I smelt nice last night, so I figure that probably hasn't worn off! She also wrote in my card:

"Thank you for all your help and support over the last 2 years, your sunny personality and willingness to go the extra mile has been really appreciated. Good luck, may happiness and success be yours..."

Hhahahaahahahaahahaahaaaaaaaaaaaa....

Sorry, it's lovely. But I'm FAR from sunny most Saturday mornings. And unless the "extra mile" refers to my ability to multi-task whilst talking to my friends on the phone...Ah well, it's still affirming, and if the last week has taught me anything it's that I need to take what I can get! Haha.

Birthday
Even though it seems ages ago now, my birthday was lots of fun and I should acknowledge! Cool venue and presents which I definitely wasn't expecting. Not to mention the excellent people who came! Lovely lovely friends! No weird "sunny personality" cards either. Haha. 23 is super depressing age to be though. It's just UGLY. Any age with a 3 in it, for some reason gives me the heebie jeebies! Bit of a worry for my 30s...

Ohh....I feel yukky! I wasn't even very drunk either. Bloody Gen wine, I blame it, I'm making the call. You know it.

Anyway I can't be bothered going on and on. So unlike me! Haha.

Goodbye to Work, Arts Ball & A Hole in My Bucket/Radiator

Goodbye and GOOD BLOODY RIDDANCE
Ugh! I'm in a HORRENDOUS mood at work today. Stupid rental lady didn't show up until 10:00. She had an open for inspection at 9:30, and WHO fields the disgruntled calls from prospective tenants? Not her, that's for sure!! Then my least favourite Sales Consultant keeps getting me to do SHITTY JOBS for her. These are NOT part of my duties. And I had to deal with her annoyingly anal clients who were signing a new contract note (not supposed to be me supervising that!) PLUS she was late for her open and the director called ME (again!) and said he was, and I quote, "fucking pissed off!"

HENCE I AM VERY GLAD TO REPORT THAT I ONLY HAVE ONE MORE WEEK HERE. They have found someone to fill my shitty position and I can concentrate on the blissful environs of my new job. However, Mezerae and Lebanese Princess, this new job actually requires me to work - ie no time for blogging - so you won't be surprised at my lack of response to requests for Arts Ball updates until now.

Arts Ball
It was a pretty fun night! My costume was, as previously noted, craptastic. And wouldn't you know I didn't lose any part of it, as I'm sure I would have with a hired costume! Some people thought I was a fairy. News FLASH - fairies do NOT wear eyeliner all the way across, or carry BROOMS (my creation was mistaken as a crazy wand) and pointy hats! Humph.

There's a Hole...
Adding to my BAD MOOD this morning was that I got to work and my car had just a smidgen of STEAM COMING OUT OF THE BONNET! Called the RACV, and some IDIOT had listed my car's number-plate, but my parents model under our total care policy (ie as many free call outs as you want, very much needed for poor little FAF!). SO, after being on hold for 20 mins I then had to hang up and get my Mum to call them back and rectify it because it's in her name! GRRRRR...Anyway, now FAF's off to Richmond to car hospital. Luckily my parents are flying to Queensland for the week on Sunday so I can have their car. One bit of good luck!

Womp MANIA x

PS Am I a bad daughter for not wanting to drive my parents to the airport at 4:30am on my birthday? Neither of my siblings will do it either - James has a 21st and Emily has Daff Day Ball the night before. I've got a 50th and am going to see a band, so not quite as concrete engagements. But 4:30!!!! Ugh.

Return of the Manic One

Return to the Rant
Ah...It's been a long while. And I nearly gave up on the whole blog thang. But I'm BA-AAAACK!

Work will do strange things to you. Besides I need to get my ranting out here, because my friends and I are also starting a joint blog (nerdiness taking OVER in a massive way!!!!) and I don't want to look like a total crazy in comparison with them. Plus I like my clockwork-orange style blog, with no photos, questionable grammar, huge leaps in logic etc. It is dear to me in ways unexplainable. Haha!

I've been in the US for a month, so that's also an excuse for about a 2 month absence. You do the math... If I had any technical expertise I would download the map on Scott and Stephano's blogs and fill in a big red splotch on the world. But I'm too lazy, so just imagine that I'm lady conqueror, coloniser, that I stampede on the culture of others with my camera and loud, inane comments...Oh wait, that was the AMERICANS...hehehe. Nah, loved it. New aim: find job in NYC that pays a LOT, so I can fulfil dream of living there and going even more crazy than I did with my shopping!

I Am My Own Wife
Must have a little rave about I Am My Own Wife - MTC production. It is the best play by far, hands down, the whole bit, in two years of MTC subscribership! The set is awesome, and the lighting enhances it no end. But the GUY (actor whatever) is A-M-A-ZING! One man shows are usually great at MTC, because what dud actor would even attempt something like that? But this man is just phenomenal. No need for costume changes or pantomime like movement, his voice and tone makes the whole thing seamless. Ahhh.... I'm going again.

Looking forward to:
Little Birdy. The Lebanese Princess finds them a bit irritating. But at least does not despise them. She's not coming :(. But I've been looking forward to their new album with GLEE.

Arts Ball. I have manufactured my own "evil" costume. It is crap-tastic (isn't that a great word, sure I didn't coin it and I don't know who did, but I'm definitely going to be using it in a big way). Particularly proud of my broom, which is actually the size of a feather duster...I'm going as a witch, did I forget to mention? Issues with attaching hat (made from kid's party hats with black napkins stuck over the top and a crooked green rim attached) because I had to take the elastic off when making it witch-esque and not sure I want to put it back on. Bobby pins? Not sure. But hair is going to be MENTAL - teased to the max, possibly sprinkled with twigs or green spray. Ahhh...loving it! Also loving Porge for hosting before drinks in a very convenient location!

Better go now, life is not hectic at HS, but I'm getting close to the end of The Mill on the Floss, which I started on camping trip in US and seems to be taking an inordinately long time to read because I haven't had a good session lately.

Womp xx

The dreaded P word

It involves a whole lot of doing NOTHING! Hehehe. You may wonder why I haven't been delighting you with my pearls during this SWOT Vac? Well...that would make me feel guilty. Whereas reading novels, that's "brain work", if unrelated to Trade Marks, Media Law or Equity...

Plus I've been a bit sick...very sick! Ugh. I know it's getting really old, but my chest is seriously deficient in the normal functions expected of it...ie rising and falling effortlessly, otherwise known as BREATHING.

My only face-to-face human contact in the last two weeks was doing a practice exam on Thursday with Pants, our other NY comrade, and the beautiful Dora. I'm not sure why Dora gets to be beautiful, and have her own name. There's the inequity of life for you. Hahahaha. It was an Equity practice exam...ok it's not funny (and Kate and Dani are beautiful too!).

Obviously state of lacking excitement means I have very little to blog about. Not really in the mood to rant, unfortunately a poor innocent soul got the brunt of that last night, hearing about my strange encounters with rude/weird people (who do not count as human contact) over the past couple of weeks. Eeep!

Anyway, better go read over Equity notes or SOMETHING. Work is blissfully quiet so I should take advantage.

Womp (ah it's still in me!) xo

Anonymous, anonymous whoever you are...

Wow Stephano, I love that my ranting ways are spreading across the blogosphere! This anonymous poster is a bit of a goober, but at least they're providing good solid fuel for the ire of the Lebanese Princess! Anyway, all my fans and detractors will be pleased to note I have taken the moderation function off now. So comment away, and I will merrily put your less savoury comments into the rubbish bin (which Stephano has kindly brought to my attention - technology again looking up!)

Do you know, I am feeling ridiculously under-stressed for the dire state my academic affairs are in?! Well you probably did not know, but now I'm telling you. WHERE is the adrenalin rush to get me going?? I NEED it. NOW!!! Eeep!

Ok, better choof off and try to at least plod unproductively, rather than blog prolifically.

Wompmania xo

PS (can you do a PS on a blog?) Bridget Jones' Diary is such a good movie. Watched it during procrastination last night...aahh!
